Community News

The City of Pemboke Pines will hold "A Taste of The Pines," on April 3rd, from 6-9pm, at the Southwest Focal Point Community Center, located at 301 NW 103rd Avenue. All proceeds benefit the City of Pembroke Pines Charter Schools. Tickets are available at the Pembroke Lakes Tennis Center and all Pembroke Pines Charter Schools.There will be live entertainment and food and wine from local restaurants.

Flamingo Gardens will hold a Benefit Flea Market on April 12, 2014, from 9:00am - 1:00pm. Arts, crafts, antiques, collectables, and plants will be for sale.This is a major fundraiser for the garden so come out and participate.

The Town of Davie will hold its Spring Egghunt and International Multicultural Festival at Robbins Lodge, 4005 Hiatus Road Rd, on April 19th, from 9am-1pm. The egg hunt starts at 10am. All participants will receive free candy. Prizes will be given for finding "magic eggs." Children will be separated by age. The Multi-Ethnic Festival will feature diverse displays, foods, cultural entertainment, and hands on activities for the entire family. Events are free but there is a $2 charge per car entering the park.

Flamingo gardens will hold its 33rd International Orchid & Bromeliad Show, April 19-20. Over 30 vendors will be participating, and an American Orchid Society judged orchid show will take place. A 25% off coupon is available here.

Fairchild Tropical Garden will hold its its 35th Annual Spring Garden Festival and Plant Sale, April 12-13th.

Cooper City will celebrate Founder's Day on April 26th. Morning events will take place at the Cooper City Community Center, 9000 SW 50th Place, and afternoon events will take place at Brian Piccolo Park. Morning events include a pancake breakfast, kiddie entertainment, a one mile walk-run stroll, and a parade. Afternoon and evening events include a car show, arts & crafts show, food booths, baseball and softball games, a free concert and fireworks.
